The Lausanne student network

To the west of the city, a large campus near the lake brings together two university network institutions: the University of Lausanne (UNIL) and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). The Graduate Institute of Public Administration (IDHEAP), a teaching and research institution for public administration careers, is located on the same campus.
The Lausanne region has several specialized universities, including the École hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), the École cantonale d’art de Lausanne (ECAL), La Manufacture, University of Performing Arts, the Vaud School of Health, the School of Social Work and Health, and the Lausanne University of Music (HEMU). The tertiary offerings in Lausanne are completed by the University of Teacher Education of the Canton of Vaud.
Regarding secondary II education, the city has several gymnasiums (including the Gymnase de Beaulieu and the Gymnase de la Cité) and schools linked to initial vocational training, such as the Lausanne Professional Commercial School, the Lausanne Technical and Trades School (ETML), the Romandie School of Arts and Communication (ERACOM) and EPSIC (Professional School of Industrial and Commercial Society107).
Schools linked to compulsory education are divided between five primary schools and seven secondary schools. In total, the city has more than fifty educational establishments108,109.
Lausanne also has a wide range of private training courses, notably at the Lausanne People’s University and the International Institute for Management Development (IMD), located in Ouchy.
